Christmas cheer...

...it's the time of the year to enjoy a couple of beers and some good old r'n'r music...on the 22nd of December we are playing our first ever gig as the Dark Rags in Thessaloniki at Eighball club with the Bad Movies. The next day we will drag our hangoverish bodies back to Athens because on Monday the 24th of December we are playing at After Dark with the mighty Teenheat. See you there!

 

Dirty Old Punks Radio Athens Compilation Vol.1

Hey, Dirty Old Punks Radio Athens and Canadian Ensign Records have teamed up to release a compilation album featuring the very best of Dirty Old Punks Radio Athens. The first volume of the compilation series features kick ass bands from Greece, the States, Italy, Canada, Croatia, Sweden etc.

The Dark Rags are featured with the track On Your Own (All Alone) taken from our debut album.

Benefit gig for the 15 anti fascist arrestees

Tonight, we are taking part at a benefit gig at ASOEE University for the 15 arrestees of the anti fascist patrol that took place on Sunday the 30th of September in Athens. Following a clash with fascists, cops attacked the patrol and those arrested were later abused and tortured by greek police. Support the cause. Check out this article by Guardian.

Underground EP

Hey, we regret to announce that the much anticipated LP version of our debut album seems very unlikely to happen. Blame bad arrangements and the whole shitty economic situation here etc 

Anyway, the good news is that we decided to release a new two-track CD EP entitled Underground, containing two unreleased tracks from the album sessions: Underground and Outta My Mind.

The new EP will be a limited edition of 300 CD's and will be given away for free at gigs hand to hand. It will be also made available as a free digital download in bandcamp.

Since the CD of our debut has long been sold out, we have repressed another batch of CD's available from us, Fuzz Overdose Records and usual r'n'r record stores.

Stay tuned and remember...we're all lost somewhere in the Underground!

Συναυλία οικονομικής ενίσχυσης του διαδηλωτή Βαγγέλη Κ. ο οποίος αποφυλακίστηκε με εγγύηση μεγάλου χρηματικού ποσού και περιοριστικούς όρους, αφού έμεινε 6 μήνες προφυλακιστέος όπως και άλλοι 3 διαδηλωτές οι οποίοι ειχαν συλληφθεί στην πορεία ενάντια στο μνημόνιο 2, στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου 2012.

Saristra Festival 2012

On Saturday the 11th of August we are playing  the Saristra Festival 2012 at the beautiful island of Kefalonia. The Festival takes place at the old and now abandoned village of Karavomilos which was eventually destroyed completely during a terrible earthquake that took place back in the the early 50's.

Lepanto Beat Festival - 28 July 2012

Alright now...on Sturday the 28th of July we'll be heading over to Nafpaktos for the Lepanto Beat Festival organized by Lost In Tyme Zine!

The Fest is taking place at the garden of an abandoned hotel and we are playing together with the ferocious Frantic V and The Snails. There's gonna be DJ sets chock full of good old garage punk music, kick ass live shows by the 3 bands and an after show party at Bar 2 to finish us off!! haha. Next day a beach party is gonna take place to make sure we won't be able to walk a straight line for once more!

So, we suggest you pack your skintight jeans, boots, shirts, swimsuits, umbrellas etc and make your way to Nafpaktos for the Lepanto Beat Festival, hang out, listen to way cool music (both live as well as from the DJ's), have more than a few beers and drinks and have a realy good time!!

Lost In Tyme 6th Issue

We did an interview and also contributed a track for the 29 track CD compilation that accompanies this great zine. The Dark Rags are featured with a re-recording of The Sun Shines (originally on Drunken Angel EP), an outtake from our debut album recording sessions which also features Mike Strauss on Organ.

Here's a few gigs we forgot to post here.....

On the 26th of May we played the "Too Much Music" Fest organized by The Boy @ Six Dogs. It was really good fun with lots of cool bands on the bill...Thanks for the good times!

A week earlier we had the pleasure to share the stage with wild French Rock 'n' Rollers the Sonic Angels, typical Rags-style weekend..we had lots of fun! Cheers to Rumble Skunk Zine/Records (Spiros and Elli) for setting this cool gig up!!!!

And in April...there was no way we were going to miss the opportunity to play at our ever favourite Tribe Bar!! Cheers to Studio Ampersand for the really cool poster design!!!
